FireChief CO2 Fire Extinguisher Steel Overview

The Firechief CTX Steel CO2 Fire Extinguisher is used for situations involving flammable liquids and electrical hazards. This CO2 is one of the best-selling and more affordable extinguishers in the FireChief CTX range and the CO2 extinguishant is harmless to electrical equipment making it ideal for office environments.

This fire extinguisher offers protection against class B and Electrical type fires.

Carbon dioxide extinguishers should NOT be used in confined spaces, as there is danger that fumes may be inhaled.

PDI Inspection A PDI inspection on a fire extinguisher stands for Pre-Delivery Inspection. It’s the safety and quality check performed before an extinguisher is handed over to the customer. Here’s what it involves:

Commissioning

Commissioning is the process of making a new fire extinguisher ready for service. In the UK, commissioning is required by BS 5306-3 and must be carried out onsite by a competent fire extinguisher technician.

A. All our portable fire extinguishers are supplied ready for use, but those with larger capacities may need to be filled and charged prior to the first time they’re used. The product listing will explain this clearly.

Q. How often should fire extinguishers be serviced?

A. Fire extinguishers must be serviced every 12 months, this is known as the “basic service”. This service should be performed in accordance with British Standard BS5036-3 and conducted by a third-party, appropriately trained technician.
