Our intumescent fire and smoke seals are specially developed for fire-rated doors to provide maximum safety and compliance. Each seal features a graphite-based intumescent core encased in a robust PVC sleeve, designed to slot easily into a rebate in either the door leaf or frame.
In the event of a fire, the intumescent strip expands to many times its original size, effectively sealing the gap around the door. This creates a protective barrier against the spread of fire, smoke, and hot gases.
We also offer versions with or without an integrated cold smoke seal in the form of a nylon brush. The smoke seal option provides extra security against smoke, which is particularly important as smoke can travel further and faster than flames.
For ease of installation, all seals come with a self-adhesive backing as standard.
30-minute protection with 10mm and 15mm seals – Certifire Approved
60-minute protection with 20mm and 25mm seals
Smoke seals tested in line with EN1634-3
The Astrostrip TB combines intumescent fire protection with a black Neoprene twin-blade smoke seal, delivering both fire resistance and effective smoke control. Available in a range of colours, it not only offers safety but also blends neatly with different door finishes.

A. Fire doors are designed to contain fires, and intumescent seals are a key component in achieving this.
They help to maintain the fire and smoke resistance of the door assembly.
Without them, gaps around the door can allow fire and smoke to spread, potentially causing significant damage and endangering lives.
Fire-only seals: Expand under heat to block fire

Regularly inspect and maintain the seals.
If you are unsure about any aspect of intumescent seals, consult with a fire safety professional.

Fire Protection Shop specialise in the supply of high-quality fire extinguishers. There are many different classifications of fire and so our products include a variety of different extinguisher types. For example, we offer water or foam fire extinguishers for solid combustibles and carbon dioxide fire extinguishers for flammable liquid or electrical fires. Each extinguishing agent comes with its benefits. Typically, water extinguishers are cheaper, produce a cooling effect and prevent reignition once the fire has been extinguished. Carbon dioxide extinguishers are clean agents, they leave no residue, are suitable for electrical fires and are often used on liquid fires which include petrol, oil or other solvents.
In addition to our extinguishers, we offer a range of fire safety products to both domestic and commercial premises. This includes the supply of fire blankets, extinguisher stands, smoke alarms, first aid kits and much more. Our entire range is sourced from reputable brand manufacturers at competitive prices. Also, all of our products carry a full warranty and guarantee and are supplied with relevant fixings where applicable.
So, for fire extinguishers, alarms and all your other fire safety needs, trust Fire Protection Shop to give you the quality, expertise and service you require.
