Astro Eco Telescopic Letterbox

The Astro eco telescopic letterbox system range has been developed to enhance the fire safety and security of occupants in a building, and is especially suitable for residential properties with multiple occupants.

The Astro eco telescopic letterbox is a stylish, ABS-framed, telescopic letterbox with metal flaps fitted with a high-performance intumescent liner around the telescopic sleeve section.

The flaps are designed to open fully to 180°.

Acoustic and thermal performance features include brush pile draught excluders, integral sound dampening bumpers and a fully sealed backplate.

In the event of a fire, the intumescent liner rapidly expands and seals off the letterbox opening, preventing the spread of fire and smoke whilst preserving the fire door's integrity.

The letter box is available in two sizes:

10” Standard (272mm x 70mm)

12” Commercial (306mm x 70mm) sizes.

Required cut-out dimensions are:

241mm x 57mm for standard size

274mm x 57mm for commercial size

Both sizes come with a black ABS frame as standard, except the stainless steel (SS) version, which features a silver frame. Flaps are available in satin aluminium, chrome plated, stainless steel, polished silver, polished brass or polished gold.

The products have undergone smoke testing in accordance with BS EN 1634-3: 2004, which covers smoke control testing for door and shutter assemblies, openable windows and elements of building hardware.
