At the core of the TC-229/4P is a powerful 100W broadband light source that emits both ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) energy, enabling effective simulation of flame conditions. This allows most compatible flame detectors to be activated from distances exceeding 4 metres, with UV detection checks possible up to 8 metres and IR or UV/IR checks up to 4 metres.
Designed with user control in mind, the unit features selectable operating modes, including continuous mode for UV testing and pulsing mode for IR and combined UV/IR detectors. A simple side-mounted switch allows users to select the appropriate detector type, while a trigger mechanism ensures straightforward operation during testing.
The TC-229/4P is powered by a rechargeable battery, offering approximately 10–15 minutes of operation under normal conditions, ideal for routine inspections and maintenance tasks. A universal charger (100–240 Vac) is included, complete with interchangeable pins for US, EU, GB, and AU use, ensuring global compatibility.
Supplied with a durable carrying case, the test lamp and its accessories are well-protected and easy to transport, making it a practical choice for engineers and safety professionals working across multiple sites.
